(I am so far behind posts because of the intermittent WiFi service in Venice... We have already moved on from Venice to Florence but here are some of the great scenes of that water city!)
Having a rented apartment as we did in Paris was a great plus. It was located right next to the Vasperatto (water taxi) stop which, if one pays attention to the posted time schedules allows you to get onto and off right next to our apartment door. We didn't learn to read those schedules until our last day & night there and discovered that certain stops including ours at San Samuel were bypassed 8:00 PM & 9:00 AM the next morning. It's both comical and frustrating to be directly across the canal from our place realizing that you must find a bridge somewhere along the way and walk home through the mazes of back alleyways between buildings!
